Between January and July 2022, I wrote these poems with a single purpose: to win her heart.

It had been forty-six years since I looked into her eyes for just two seconds—and in that fleeting moment, she captivated me forever. I didn’t recognize her again until decades later, when a photograph from that very day revealed the owner of that unforgettable gaze.

That year, she traveled to the United States for several months, and I stayed behind, accompanied only by my thoughts, my memories, and my hope. In her absence, time and again, I wrote: “I will wait for you forever.”

These poems are messages sent to her, a voyage of words sailing through time and distance. Each verse is a sail unfurled, each metaphor a course set toward one single destination: her heart.
